Fire safety

What to do in case of fire in a building?

Step-by-step instructions for behavior in case of fire:

In the event of a fire

  • Assess the situation, determine where the danger comes from
  • Report to the fire department
  • Move in the opposite direction from the fire, to a smoke-free staircase or exit

Deciding to escape through a smoke-filled corridor

  • When moving, try to breathe through a handkerchief or clothing, and if possible, cover yourself with a wet thick cloth
  • Move to the exit bending down or crawling, try to hold on to doors, handrails, railings, etc.

A fiery wave is approaching you

Do not hesitate, fall to the floor, cover your head with your hands or clothes, try not to breathe
IN CASE OF A DANGEROUS CONCENTRATION OF SMOKE AND AN INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE:
DO NOT GO OUT WHERE THE VISIBILITY IS LESS THAN 10 M - IT IS ENOUGH TO TAKE A FEW BREATHS, AND YOU CAN DIE!

If you can't get out

  • Return to the room
  • Close the door tightly
  • If possible, cover door cracks and ventilation holes with wet cloths and wait for firefighters or rescuers

If there is a balcony or loggia

  • Go out onto the balcony
  • Close the door tightly
  • Evacuate using the fire escape or through another room
  • If there is no balcony, stand on a ledge or ledge and wait for help

IN CASE OF FIRE, YOU SHOULD NOT

  • Extinguish the fire until the firefighters are called
  • Extinguish switched on electrical appliances with water
  • Escape through the smoke-filled stairs
  • Use the elevator
  • Jump out of the windows of the upper floors
  • Go down downpipes, sheets, ropes
  • Open windows and doors
